Nexus Special Programs represent the opportunity to specialize and obtain an expanded Education with increased Dedication and participation levels. Each Nexus Special Program focuses on a distinctive area of expertise that will greatly enhance the student’s Experience, Knowledge and Overall Education. These special programs are not mandatory, but highly recommended.
Technical – Traditional
Yellow Belt & Above

Nexus Technical / Traditional Programs (NTT) utilize a dual focus of the blending of technical and modern competitive applications with the traditional and ancient art. NTT greatly enhances the student’s Taekwondo knowledge base creating a shorted learning curve for advanced applications and techniques.
NTT is highly suggested to enhance the student’s chances of achieving their black belt. Further, NTT provides exceptional background material for any who wish to obtain Nexus Self Defense Program Certification.
Self Defense
Yellow Belt & Above
Ages 7 & Above
The Nexus Self Defense Program (NSD) utilizes the psychokinetic and kinesthetic neuromuscular training methods to firmly engrain self defense theory into reflexive memory. Students will learn all manner of self defense theory and applications from: awareness, strategies and tactics, escapes, wrist locks, chokes grappling, etc… The program goal is to educate the student on the overall applications of a myriad of mental and physical self defense methods and to train these methods until they become automatic.
Jiu Jitsu
White Belt & Above
Ages 7 & Above
This class is based on Brazilian Gracie Jiu jitsu. You will learn defenses against different attacks as well as escapes from headlocks, chokes, holds and other situations you are likely to encounter on the street.
Whether you have no experience in martial arts or you are a veteran martial artist, this class will give you a confidence on the street that you may never have had.
Martial arts uniform is not required.
Olympic Development Programs
The Nexus Olympic Programs focus on the Olympic Taekwondo competitive Competition Training. These are the same programs responsible for Creating World and Olympic Champions and consist of three sub programs that serve as prerequisites for increased levels of achievement.
Champion’s Club

The Nexus Champion’s Club (X4) is the prerequisite for all consecutive Olympic programs. X4 students will learn the fundamentals of Olympic Taekwondo training and begin to build on the strong foundation obtained in the Nexus Foundation Program. Olympic training consists of: plyometric drills, core strength, flexibility, stepping drills, paddle drills, heavy shield, sparring applications, strategy and more. X4 team members have open permission to compete at any approved competitions, camps and seminars.
Developmental Team
Prerequisite: Champion’s Club

The Nexus Developmental Team (X3) represents a benchmark in athlete development. X3 training method has been and is directly responsible for engraining the more advanced Olympic training that has resulted in Jr. State, Jr. Regional and Jr. National Champions. Alumni of this training method include World and Olympic Champions.
Junior Team
Prerequisite: Nexus Developmental Team
Red Belt & Above
Ages 13 & Above
The Nexus Junior Team (X2) represents an exceptional benchmark in athlete development. The X2 Team training methodology has been and is directly responsible for engraining the more advanced Olympic training that has resulted in Jr. National Team Members and Jr. Pan American and Jr. World Champions. Alumni of this training method include World and Olympic Champions.
