Brad Perkins began his training in Taekwondo in 1989 onboard a naval nuclear aircraft carrier while it was on a 6 month deployment. Out of 250 original students, only 6 continued training when the carrier finished its tour. He was transferred to Pensacola, Florida in 1992 and continued training WTF Taekwondo. In Florida, he started competing in tournaments and won various medals in his weight division. He also taught self defense to the military police force and to military families. At the end of his tour in Florida, he earned his 1st Dan. Brad moved to Dallas where he trained under Master Dong Lee. He also helped train the Mesquite Police Force.
